Coaching Rally Cap Baseball

The Rally Cap Program is an initiative to enhance players' and coaches' first experience with the game of baseball. The program is designed to teach players the five (5) FUNdamentals of baseball (fundamental movement skills, throwing, receiving, hitting, base running) in a fun and safe environment.

St. Catharines Minor Baseball has structured our Rally Cap Divisions in a way that they progressively build upon the division below. We've also overlapped the ages of the divisions to allow for some flexibility to accommodate various starting ages, as well as speed of development. 

Getting Started

1. Register to Coach! using our Registration Portal.
   • If you are a new family, please create an account, other wise log in.
   • Make sure you add yourself as a family member (so your child doesn't end up coaching ;).
     
     
2. Volunteer Screening:
   • This is MANDATORY for all coaches (as per Baseball Ontario policy).
   • Please follow our Volunteer Screening Instructions
   • ALL Coaches will need to follow Level 2 Screening Requirements.
   • Occasional helpers will need to follow Level 1 Screening Requirements.

Training

1. Annual Review of OBA Harassment Policy.
2. Annual Review of OBA Supervisions (Rule of 2) Policy.
3. Annual Review of the OBA Coaches Code of Conduct Policy.
4. Annual Review of SCMBA Injury Reporting Policy.
   
   
5. MANDATORY (one-time) Coach Training
   - Coach Assoc. of Canada Online Training Modules (create an account/sign into "The Locker")
   1. FREE Understanding the Rule of Two online module - Approx. 20mins.
   2. FREE Safesport Training online module - Approx. 60-90mins.
   3. FREE Making Head Way online module - Approx. 60-90mins.
   4. FREE Emergency Action Plan online module - Approx. 15mins.
      
      
6. Additional ANNUAL Concussion Education/Review
   • Annual Review of Concussion Information Page.
   • Annual Review of OBA Remove from Play Policy.
   • Annual Review of OBA Concussion/Return to Play Policy.
     
     

1. Additional (OPTIONAL) Training Courses which would be beneficial:
   • Coaches can be reimbursed for course expenses using THIS FORM.

     NCCP Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) $37.45
